WHY          ?

Our name "ELM" stands for the names of our three children: Evelynn, Liam, and Mila. They are our "why" for opening ELM Pediatric Dentistry, so we decided to use their names as a constant reminder. We want to create a family-friendly environment, where you and your child will feel at home. We believe every child deserves the best care and invite you to join our family!

MEET THE DOCTORS

DR. AUSTIN RODENBERG

Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Austin Rodenberg is a pediatric dentist from the midwest who completed his residency at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry and Norton Children’s Hospital.

His philosophy is to treat all children as if they were one of his own sitting in the chair. To him, that means doing his best to relate with your child so that he or she will grow up enjoying going to the dentist. For Dr. Rodenberg, an ideal world is one in which every child gets to grow up never having a cavity.  Patient/parent education and dental prevention are the most important parts of going to a dentist.

For those that do require dental treatment, he has made it a priority to have the most up-to-date training in fields such as sedation, laser dentistry, traumatic dental injuries, restorative dentistry, craniofacial growth and development and working with children with special health care needs and complex medical conditions.

When Dr. Rodenberg is not in the office, he can be found spending time with his family, serving in his church, coaching his son's basketball team or the Oldham County United AAU basketball club, and competing in disc golf tournaments. Dr. Rodenberg recently accepted a role as an  attending in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Louisville and Norton Children's Hospital where he spends time with residents and gives seminars in the field of pediatric dentistry.

Dr. Nicole Slinker-Rodenberg

Dentist

Dr. Nicole is from a small town in Southern Kentucky nicknamed Chicken Bristle, Kentucky! She wanted to be a dentist from the time she was a little girl because of her very kind hometown dentist. Because of his impact upon her life, she understands how important it is to have a dental "home" with someone who genuinely cares about you and your oral health. This is her number one goal with you and your child... to establish the same relationship she was fortunate enough to have with her own dentist.

Nicole is an alumnus of Western Kentucky University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology. She attended the University of Louisville School of Dentistry and has lived in the Louisville area ever since.  She has spent almost a decade in pediatric dentistry. She loves teaching children how to care for their teeth and helping them to earn a place in the "No Cavity Club". She also enjoys the rewarding experience of helping eliminate any tooth pain and guiding families through dental emergencies.

Dr. Nicole believes in helping all kids have a positive dental experience. Some children require patience to help them work through their dental anxiety.  For others, sedation is the best option to prevent dental fear. She also believes that you, the parent, are the expert regarding your own children. We will listen and work together to decide what is best for your child's specific situation.

When Dr. Nicole is not in the office, she can be found outside or reading with her children!
